Specialties
Chiropractics main treatment is the vertebral adjustment. Along with this adjustment a Chiropractor can concentrate his or her interests in a myriad of different Specialties:
- Cranials
- Sports Injuries
- Childrens Health
- Nutrition
Cranials concentrate on the bones of the skull. Even though these bones form tight sutures as you grow, they still have subtle movements that can greatly affect the underlying brain tissue. If a person, athlete or amateur, is struck on the head from anything, a hockey stick, fall off a bike, a face punch, or even a bump from a door closing, the skull and brain tissue are affected.
Chiropractic cranial work helps to restore the normal positioning of the affected bones. This allows the brain and surrounding cerebrospinal fluid to function to its potential. People with tight neck and shoulder muscles can have tension headaches from these muscles pulling on the base of the skull. Other conditions that cranial work has helped include:
- Headaches
- Cerebral Palsy
- TBI (traumatic brain injury) from falls or injuries
- Sleep Disorders
Sports Injuries are widespread in our country today, mostly because athletes push their bodies to their limits during their particular sports. Sports Chiropractors not only adjust vertebral subluxations; but perform extremity adjusting to realign fingers, ribs, hips, and other extremities that may be affected in a Sports Arena.
Childrens Health is of utmost importance to their growth and development. Dr Giagiari believes the decisions you make health wise for your children from birth till you send them off to College are the major foundation for their health throughout the rest of their lives. Aligning their spine while growing, deciding on what food to feed them, determining what shots to give them or not etc. all play into how their child performs the rest of his / her life.
Nutrition plays a major role in the health and wellness of a body. The saying "you are what you eat" is not something to take lightly. The food you ingest is directly related to your subsequent energy output.
